We are pleased to announce Ready Set Go’s support and involvement with the Royal Society of Victoria and their commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the departure of the Burke and Wills expedition from Melbourne. The expedition was one of the most important yet ultimately ill fated scientific endeavours in Australia’s history.
On Friday August 20 a Gala Film Screening of the 1985 film Burke and Wills starring Jack Thompson, Nigel Havers and Greta Scacchi will be hosted at the National Gallery of Victoria. Burke and Wills showcases the rugged beauty of the Australian desert as well as superb performances from the cast. The film itself was also historically important as, at the time it was produced it was the largest budget Australian film production.
