In 2009 Computershare contacted Ready Set Go to help them produce their end of year staff Christmas celebrations. Looking for a change from the gala dinners that they had hosted in previous years, the idea was to involve not only Computershare staff members but their families as well with a traditional “old style” Family Day.
After investigating a few venues, it was decided that the Collingwood Children’s Farm would be the ideal location to hold the event, just across the road from Computershare’s headquarters. The place perfectly matched our vision of a country style fair, with activities such as farm tours, animal feeding and pony rides already available on the farm’s beautiful grounds.
Life Be In it provided the children with “old school” games to play like egg and spoon races, sack races, three legged races and jump rope games, while other activities included face- painting, craft workshops and a children’s band. Live entertainment was provided Raggs, Kung Fu Panda, The Wackies and, of course, Santa himself.
Collingwood Children’s Farm Café staff did a wonderful job on the day, catering the event with delicious organic barbeque fare, some of which had been grown on the farm itself.
Heavy rain presented us with a challenge on the day, but we came prepared with waterproof ponchos and Computershare branded umbrellas to hand out to guests. The entire day proved to be a great success, with staff and their families enjoying a fun and unique experience.
