In February, we managed and produced Shell’s brand presence at Top Gear Live 2009, held at Acer Arena in Sydney. This promotion was designed to support Shell’s global sponsorship of the event. With the objectives of encouraging the trial of , increasing loyalty to, and testing Shell V-Power’s new key messaging, Ready Set Go devised and delivered a strong activity matrix designed to meet these objectives.
Shell’s major display was in the Shell V-Power Dome, constructed by Ready Set Go and the team at Giant Inflatables. The 15 metre Dome was strongly branded and stood out amongst the standard marquees.
Extreme heat was a challenge during the event. With temperatures soaring above 40°C for the entire weekend, keeping cool was a major issue, yet keep cool we did and despite the searing heat the event went off without a hitch.
Unlike many events of this scale that we produce, Ready Set Go were only given a five week lead-in period from design to delivery. This time also included the Christmas and New Years break. Ready Set Go's skills were put to the test but despite the unusually short turn-around time, we were able to smoothly deliver a complex and successful program.
